INTRODUCTION TO TECHNICAL DRAWING/CAD
 COURSE OUTLINE

The following outline is based on present engineering practices and follows a step-by-step approach to the study of technical drawing and CAD skills and the mastery of special techniques that provide clear and concise drawings. Most of the readings will be from "Drafting in a Computer Age", by Wallach & Chowenhill. Additional references will be called to your attention and are available in the reference area of the classroom.

  Unit 1 - Introduction to Technical Drawing/CAD

Unit 2 - Lettering Styles, Tools & Techniques

Unit 3 - The Design Process for Solving Problems

 Unit 4 - Sketching & Orthographic Projection

Unit 5 - Drawing Equipment, Tools & Supplies

 Unit 6 - Interpretation, Assembly & Prototyping

Each step of work is based on objectives that should be satisfactorily completed to a level comparable to the student's capabilities and aspirations. Failure to satisfy the stated objectives will require revisions to be made or the redrawing of the problem.
