All About FMP
Intro | What is FMP | Goals | Organization | Advisory Team
Thank you for showing interest in our FMP experience. Our outstanding student advisors, faculty advisors, and counselors are the reasons FMP is a success. FMP, our Freshman Mentor Program, has developed into our "Friendly Meeting Place". FMP is more than a Home Room - it is a room that becomes a home for our freshmen.

Stevenson High School began its advisory program with six advisories, six outstanding teachers, twelve enthusiastic juniors and one hundred anxious freshmen. Today, the advisory program consists of 42 advisories, 42 faculty advisors, and 16 academic counselors servicing 1,100 anxious freshmen and utilizing the talents and support of 200 upperclassmen.

The FMP Program was introduced and developed by Dolores Fischer. Dolores has been at Adlai E. Stevenson High School since 1972 and has taught the full spectrum of Stevenson's Mathematics curriculum. During her tenure, she has coached National Champion Cheerleading and Pom Pon teams, coached the Math Team, helped develop and co-coordinate The Peer Jury Program for the Lincolnshire Police Department, and served as a member of the IDSA (Illinois Director of Student Activities) Board. Currently she is teaching Geometry and directing the FMP program. She also serves as the school liaison to Stevenson High School's Hockey Board of Directors, serves as the Varsity Hockey Team's Manager, serves on Stevenson's Staff Development Committee, is the chairperson of the "Opening Day" Celebration for all faculty and staff, and coordinates our Freshman Orientation Day. In 1994, Dolores proposed that Stevenson High School initiate an advisory program to assist freshmen in making the transition from junior high to high school. The program proved to be so successful that it is now an integral part of the Stevenson High School experience. Dolores has served as the champion and leader of the program since its inception.
