On behalf of the Freshman Mentor Program (FMP), we welcome you to Stevenson
High School. FMP is a comprehensive transition program for freshman which
provides you with a supportive environment that eases your transition from
junior high to high school. One exciting feature of FMP is the Freshman
Advisory class. All freshmen are required to take this class. Freshman Advisory
meets four days a week during 20 minutes of your lunch hour for the academic
year. You will be welcomed each day by your FMP student advisors and faculty
advisor. Your academic counselor will meet with you once a week during advisory.
You may be wondering who FMP advisors are. They are upperclassmen that want to
be your friend; to be your guide; to teach you about all that Stevenson has to
offer; to teach you about the traditions at Stevenson; but most of all, they
will be your big brother and big sister during your freshman year. The FMP
advisors provide a comfortable transition to high school for every freshman
that passes through our doors.
