G.I.V.E. Policies
No-Show Policy
This applies to both weekly and special events.
Once you sign up for an event, you are committing yourself to volunteer at a specific time on a specific day. Realize that by failing to show up for an event, you are taking away someone else’s opportunity to participate.
Excused Absences
If you know you will not be able to attend an event that you signed up for, make sure you do at least one of the following before 7:55 AM the day of the event:
- Bring a note to student activities indicating that you will not be able to come
- E-mail us at give@district125.k12.il.us, indicating that you will not be able to come
- Cross name off signup sheet
- No more than 3 times a semester
This procedure must be followed even if you are absent from school on the day of the event.
After 2 excused absences, you will receive a letter advising you of your status. After your 3rd excused absence, you will not be able to go to any GIVE event (weekly or special) for 1 month.
Unexcused Absences
If you sign-up for an event, do not follow the procedures stated above, and fail to show-up for the event, your absence is unexcused.
After 1 unexcused absence, you will receive a letter advising you of your status. After your 2nd unexcused absence, you will not be able to go to any GIVE event (weekly or special) for 1 month.
Be responsible and show up to your events!!!
NOTE: All GIVE cards now come in a packet with the No-Show Policy that must be signed and returned to Student Activities along with the GIVE card.
