FMP Student Advisor Expecations and Goals

  1. FMP student advisors are expected to attend school. You must minimize absences for medical appointments, early bird PE, and extended vacations. Attendance at school is required and effective immediately

  2. You are required to attend advisory Monday through Thursday for the full academic year during half of your lunch period. If your absence from advisory is unauthorized or if you have been absent for an extended period of time, you must contact Ms. Fischer and explain your absence.

  3. Attendance at Freshman Orientation Day and team building days is required for all FMP student advisors.

  4. All FMPs are required to attend two “Open Houses” in September

  5. Attendance at “A World of Difference” days with your advisory is required for all senior FMP student advisors.

  6. Attendance at all FMP meetings (before, after, or during school) through the year is required for each FMP student advisor. If you neglect to attend any meeting you must:
        a) Report your absence before the meeting if possible
        b) Report to Ms. Fischer
        c) Provide a reason, not an excuse
        d) Be responsible for all information received in the meeting
        e) Pick up all handouts and papers in room #1123 the following Monday

(Consequences for unauthorized absences will be determined on a case-by-case basis)

  7. All FMP student advisors are expected to follow an academic code of conduct. If an FMP student advisor is caught cheating or lying in regards to academic subjects it will result in dismissal from the FMP program.

  8. Your counselor is an integral part of your FMP team. You are expected to assist and cooperate with your counselor on the days they visit your advisory.

  9. Becoming that special “Upperclassman Friend” to each of your freshman is your ultimate goal. You are expected to develop and nurture a respectful relationship with your faculty advisor, counselor, director, FMP partners, and each freshman in your advisory.

  10. As an FMP student advisor, you are a role model for the entire school body. Stevenson is a community that has chosen you because you are an exemplary student in all aspects. As a result, you are expected to maintain good grades, behave appropriately in and out of school, abide by all Stevenson rules and regulations, abide by all FMP rules and expectations, and DRESS appropriately throughout the entire school year. No hats are to be worn when you wear your FMP shirt during Freshman Orientation Day and Parent Open Houses.

  11. FMP Student Advisors are expected to be role models in and out of the classroom. An FMP Student Advisor who is assigned an LOP may be dismissed as an FMP. Consequences will be determined by the directors on a case-by-case basis.

  12. New FMP student advisors are expected to complete an activity packet and log the required hours learning how to use “Career Locker”. Further information will be given at a later date.

  13. FMP student advisors are expected to maintain a folder binder with separators to keep all FMP handouts.
        1) Addresses and e-mail addresses
        2) Agendas and handouts
        3) Calendar
        4) Career Locker activities
        5) No Use Contract and Student Advisor Expectations and Goals

These folders are to be used in advisory and should be brought to each FMP meeting.

  14. FMP Student Advisors grades will monitored weekly. Attendance and discipline patters will also be monitored. Deficiencies in attendance, grades and behavior will be dealt with by the directors on a case-by-case basis.
  15. Site visit team members must attend:
        a) Ms. Fischer will meet with site visit team members individually throughout the summer.
        b) First presentation in August
        c) Each site visit day presentation during their 3rd period FMP. Dates are on the calendar.
